All Over You (Unforgettable You, #1.5) - Beverley Kendall *I received a free ARC of Those Nights in Montreal from Season Publishing LLC via Netgally in exchange of an honest review*ARC received on May 23.This and all my other reviews are originally posted on my blog (un)Conventional BookviewsAll Over You is a novella in the Unforgettable You series. And since I've enjoyed quite a few new adult reads lately, I was excited to read this, especially because I love this author's historical romance novels. As with Only For You, though, I was disappointed when reading. I had trouble connecting with Becca and Scott, and even if I already 'knew' Becca's friends from before, I really didn't feel like I knew enough about either of them to actually care.Becca is angry at Scott for how he handled something when they were dating, and this is the reason she broke up with him. However, Scott can't get over Becca anymore than she can get over him - but Scott has the guts to try to do something to change the situation. I didn't think Becca's reason was valid at all, and I found her to act like a much younger character when it came to this. All Over You is a short read, but it wasn't very quick, I had to persuade myself to continue reading, and that really doesn't happen very often. The writing is a little forced, it seems, especially when it comes to the re-telling of a sexual encounter Becca ran in on. The crude language didn't mesh with the way Becca usually spoke, and I thought Scott was acting very cavalier about some things he had experienced earlier in his teens. The interactions between the girls didn't make a lot of sense to me either, it was as if all the characters in All Over You were trying to keep their distance from each other. The interactions appear a little forced, as do their bravado at times.I'm not sure if I'll pick up another book in this series, but I will delve into the historical romance novels by the same author with great pleasure, just as I have before. If you like angsty reads, this might be exactly what you're looking for, though. Part of why I wasn't into All Over You is that I expected characters who were a little more mature, whereas they felt pretty much like YA characters to me.I'm sure if I were into threesomes, I would've been set for the night but stuff like that is better in theory than in practice. This I know firsthand."Okay, if you say so," she replies skeptically before taking a sip of her wine cooler. "I'm not," I insist, lying through my orthodontically-straightened teeth."I'm not," I state firmly. "It's been a year, Scott and I've moved on." I'm not lying exactly. Moving on is like a book, it's subjective. Although the thought of him with someone else makes me queasy.
