Avid reader, blogger, compulsive one-clicker, genre-omnivore.
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
Since I started participating in Stacking The Shelves because I figured I really need to keep better track of books I’m adding to my huge TBR pile every week, I think I have gotten a little better at not adding too many books every single week. Participating in this blog-hop has also introduced me to more new blogs, and some weeks, I add more books to my ‘might-read-one-day’ shelf than I should, but before I actually have the books on my kindle, nothing has been decided yet.
What She Didnt’ Know (Vapid Vixens #1) by I. Ronik – this is a parody of erotic romance novels – and I couldn’t resist
Summary: Cassie had been looking out for her sister Jessica what felt like her whole life. So when Jess starts dating a man whom Cassie believes poses a threat to her sister’s safety, she steps in, insisting on meeting him. The last thing she expected to happen was that she would fall for the man’s cousin–who just so happens to be Cassie’s boss! And she certainly wasn’t expecting him to reveal the deep, dark secrets he’d been hiding from her for years. Can their love survive, or will Cassie run away from the opportunity in front of her?
“What She Didn’t Know” is an erotic romance parody short story intended for mature audiences only
Dead Beautiful by Yvonne Woon was released in 2010, but since it was on Netgalley now, I felt like getting it and reading it.
Summary: On the morning of her sixteenth birthday, Ren e Winters was still an ordinary girl. She spent her summers at the beach, had the perfect best friend, and had just started dating the cutest guy at school. No one she’d ever known had died. But all that changes when she finds her parents dead in the Redwood Forest, in what appears to be a strange double murder.
After the funeral Ren e’s wealthy grandfather sends her to Gottfried Academy, a remote and mysterious boarding school in Maine, where she finds herself studying subjects like Philosophy, Latin, and the “Crude Sciences.”
It’s there that she meets Dante Berlin, a handsome and elusive boy to whom she feels inexplicably drawn. As they grow closer, unexplainable things begin to happen, but Ren e can’t stop herself from falling in love. It’s only when she discovers a dark tragedy in Gottfried’s past that she begins to wonder if the Academy is everything it seems. Little does she know, Dante is the one hiding a dangerous secret, one that has him fearing for her life.
Better Luck Next Time (Vapid Vixens #2) by I. Ronik
Summary: Amber’s marriage was in trouble. Her high-powered husband couldn’t keep it zipped, so she did what any reasonable woman would do. She became a high-end call girl in the hopes that giving him a dose of his own medicine would make him see the light. But would this all-or-nothing gamble work, or end up costing her everything she holds dear?
None this week. Haven’t I been good?
None either. I’m proud of myself
