When Jasmine's best friend and roommate tells her she's pregnant, Jasmine is less than overjoyed. Especially when Roni tells her that she isn't sure just who the father is. Complicating matters is Jasmine's unwelcome attraction to her billionaire playboy boss. What follows is a mind-blowing journey down the trail to motherhood that will test the bounds of their friendship and the limits of Jasmine's patience.
*I received a free ARC of Who’s Your Baby Daddy from I. Ronik Literature via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review*
Who’s Your Baby Daddy had me howling with laughter – all the contemporary erotica tropes are poked fun at, and done very well! There is even a cool dream-sequence, where the follow-up is that the characters aren’t completely sure what is real and what is part of the dream.
The story in Who’s Your Baby Daddy is pretty risqué, but never too much for my dear heart anyway. Roni is the perfect romance novel ditz, and Jas is more serious, but her wanting to have love and romance in her life is still part of the plot-line. And Jas is pretty good at cleaning up after Roni, both literally and metaphorically.
Even if you’re a romance / erotica fan, Who’s Your Baby Daddy will probably make you laugh, because I am, and I could totally see the humor all through the story. And I think that sometimes, the skills it take to make a parody that lives up to the genre it’s making fun of is just as difficult as writing in the genre. To see the tropes, and then magnify them to show that they can be truly ridiculous while still having a plot and a storyline is exactly what Who’s Your Baby Daddy managed to do.
The whole Vapid Vixen series has brought me many, many laughs. And at the same time, there has always been some true hotness and twists that were well done.
I stopped walking, so frustrated by her irresponsible attitude that if I didn’t take a few steps away from her, I might just strangle her.
Like I’d hoped, his eyes dropped straight to my boobs and stayed there. My nipples hardened into inch-long diamonds and I knew he could see them under my top. Moving in for the kill, I slipped my shoe off and ran my foot up the inside of his leg.
She was real. She was honest. And she was, God help him, apparently a virtual virgin when it came to matters concerning sex.
“Of course I’m in love with you!” he roared. “This is a romance novel. I have to be in love with you. That’s how these things work. We had a one-night stand, I’m a billionaire, I was your boss, and you’re now unemployed and pregnant with my child. Don’t be ridiculous!”
