Teaser Tuesday #27: Carrier - Anne Tibbets

Teaser Tuesday - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

Teaser Tuesday #27 Carrier

Carrier cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Carrier is kind of spooky so far, and I have only just started. It’s set in a dystopian world, where girls are sold to The Line… and where they are basically prostituted against their will… My review will be up on Monday next week for the Blogtour hosted by Xpresso Booktours.

My Teaser:

There were rumors among the girls about what happened at retirement, but no one wanted to know for sure. Some feared they were euthanized. Others theorized they were sold again. I preferred the first option.

“Physical condition?” I could tell he was getting irritated. I reminded myself to stop asking questions, but it was hard when he clearly had answers. “Yes. Well, this is where it gets difficult,” he said. “You’re pregnant.”

What’s your teaser today? Please share – it’s not as if a few more books on my TBR mountain will make that big of a difference ;)
